He received a B.A. in Sociology and M.S. in Criminal Justice from Arizona State University. He was awarded “Detention Officer of the Year” in Maricopa County, Arizona in 1998. In 1999 he was awarded “Detention Officer Of The Year” by the State of Arizona.
